As part of our shared commitment to healthy and safe ministry, a virtual Boundary Training has been scheduled for:

• Ministers of Word and Sacrament (including validated ministry)
• Commissioned Ruling Elders 
• CRE learners
• CPM Inquirers/Candidates
• Ruling elder commissioners to presbytery and 
• Cyclical participants who have received grant funding.  

The Book of Order requires misconduct training to be completed within the past three (3) years  If that describes you, your attendance and participation at this training is mandatory. If you are unsure when your last boundary training was completed, please contact Katie McKinstry. If you are a new member of our presbytery and completed similar training elsewhere, please send Katie a copy of your certificate of completion to add to your file. 

Additionally, for non-ordained persons, staff or volunteers, in ministry with youth/children/vulnerable adults, the training is highly recommended.

This online training will be led by David Olsen, PhD, LCSW, LMFt, Executive Director of the Samaritan Counseling Center (upstate NY) on Monday, January 25 from 9am to 3pm. David led our training in 2024 as well. 

There will be interactive breakout groups which are an important part of the training so you will need to be available for the full schedule on January 25th.

The cost will be $40.00 PER CHURCH/MINISTRY LEADERSHIP GROUP or $40 per individual (for people taking this individually rather than as part of a ministry group). Since this is mandatory training for Ministers of Word and Sacrament and Commissioned Ruling Elders, we encourage churches to cover the cost. Invite everyone in your church who fit the criteria mentioned above and have them register below. We will invoice the participating churches/individuals once you register.
